Meet the SchoolUp Team

Amie Garcia

EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANT

Amie has spent her career helping people learn, grow, and make confident decisions. With more than 20 years of experience in education, entrepreneurship, and community leadership, she brings a thoughtful and practical approach to helping families make important educational decisions.

Before joining SchoolUp, Amie taught in Wake County Public Schools and later founded and operated a professional organizing business, where she helped clients create systems and solutions that supported their everyday lives. Across each chapter of her career, her focus has remained the same: helping people understand complex information and move forward with confidence.

Today, Amie helps Wake County families understand school options, enrollment pathways, and educational opportunities while identifying choices that align with their child’s needs and family priorities.

Emmy Renquist

EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANT

Emmy brings a deep connection to the Durham community and a personal understanding of the many decisions families consider when choosing a school.

As a fourth-generation Durhamite and a graduate of both public and private schools, Emmy has experienced the local educational landscape from multiple perspectives. Her family’s moves with the U.S. Air Force also gave her firsthand experience navigating new communities and school systems, along with the opportunity to work in Maryland public schools.

Emmy believes there is no one-size-fits-all approach to choosing a school. She works with families to understand their priorities, explore available options, and identify educational opportunities that align with their child’s needs and family goals.

Our Growing Team & Network

EXPANDING THE WAYS WE SUPPORT FAMILIES

As SchoolUp grows, we continue to build relationships with trusted educators, specialists, and community partners who share our commitment to supporting families.

Through workshops, resources, and collaborative programs, we connect families with additional guidance and perspectives that support important moments throughout their educational journey, from early childhood and school transitions to exploring new educational opportunities.

We believe families benefit most when they have access to thoughtful information, trusted resources, and a network of professionals who can support their unique needs.
